Pigmentation, Dark Spots & Melasma - ER Q-Switched YAG Laser

Pigmentation, Dark Spots & Melasma Eraser with ER Q-Switched YAG Laser

ER Q-Switched YAG Laser

Non-ablative laser and light treatments have largely replaced ablative laser therapy in clinical use for the improvement of the visible signs of cutaneous photoaging, including rhytides, vascular lesions, and pigmentation. ER Q-Switch laser toning is the latest technology to reduce and break down the synthesis of stubborn pigmentation including Melasma and Chloasma caused by hormonal fluctuation and overproduction of melanin by pigment cells in the skin. ER Q-Switched is not only becoming increasingly popular for its incredible results, but it is also non-invasive, with no adverse risk, no downtime and lesser side effects as compared to other laser modalities.

What is ER Q-Switched Yag Laser?

Stretch marks are cause by skin stretching and an increase of cortisone in your system. Cortisone is a hormone naturally produced by adrenal glands, but over-producing will weakens elastic fibres in the skin.

Specific Features:

ER Yag non-ablative laser treatments have largely replaced ablative laser therapy for improvement of the visible signs of cutaneous photoaging, including rhytides, vascular lesions, and pigmentation.

  1. Its thermal injury to the dermis in association with epidermal cooling system initiates the dermal vasculature to provoke a cascade of inflammation which accelerates the healing process for skin rejuvenation.
  2. There is no indication that non-ablative laser treatments are harmful or pose potential risk for skin cancer;
  3. Photo-mechanic reaction from Q-Switched Yag Laser causes more synthesis of collagen type III showing distinguish statistical improvements in skin elasticity, dermal thickness and synthesis of hydroxyproline which is more effective in collagen remodelling.

Cooling has become an integral part of laser treatments. Our ER Yag spatially selective cooling system is achieved by using the cold sapphire contact handpiece touching on the skin surface. This system promotes rapid epidermal cooling to lower temperature of the energy without affecting the treatment efficacies.

FAQ

1. How long is the duration of the procedure?

The duration of the procedure depends largely on the size of the lesion treated. An age spot can take a single second to treat, while a large birthmark or nevus can take up to a few minutes. Patients may experience slight discomfort during the procedure, but the pain is minimal.

2. What are the expected results?

Most pigmented lesions can achieve complete removal after a recommended control number of sessions. Small lesions of freckles or age spots may take a single treatment to be remove completely while other indications may require six or more treatments, depending on a variety of factors.

3. Is laser a permanent solution to pigmentation?

Pigmentation is a complex phenomenon due to its interplay of many external and internal trigger factors. Treatment of these underlying factors and then followed by a moderate sun protection of Timeless Sun Care and revolutionary enzymatic treatment serum Renewal Radiant Complex helps to prevent recurrence while stabilizing the skin conditions even under chronic light exposure.

Pre-&-Post Treatment Care

Skin exposure to ultraviolet irradiation prior to and post laser treatment increases the potential risks for side-effects, especially thermal burns and hyperpigmentation. To achieve optimal results of laser procedure, the patient is advised to protect the treated skin from sun exposure before and after the laser treatment.

A daily regimen inclusive of intense hyaluronic acid based serum like Wrinkle Hyaluronic Complex or SupremEffects moisturizing cream with a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF 30++ Timeless Sun Care, is highly recommended at least 4 weeks in prior to the first laser treatment. Products contain Glycolic acid and salicylic acid is highly prohibited. Laser treatment is not a painless procedure and most patients do not require local anaesthesia during the treatment.

Our recommended post-treatment skin care depends on the type of wavelengths used and the skin conditions of the treated area. Immediately after the procedure, patients are advised to apply a layer of anti-inflammatory e-CO2 gel mask to reduce the epidermal skin damage. However, for darker skin tone or treatment with higher fluence energy, patients are recommended to reapply e-CO2 gel mask for the next subsequent two to three days to reduce the downtime.

Strict control use of sun-protection of Timeless Sun Care SPF 30++ with UVA & UVB and Fullnesse HA for sufficient hydration to accelerate the redermalization process must be followed at least 4 weeks after the procedure.

Recommended Treatment Protocol

Frequent treatments, initially at 2–3 weeks interval is highly recommended. Our professional and experienced laser specialists approach each treatment protocol in a comprehensive way by tailoring to your specific needs.

It usually takes approximately 5-8 sessions to produce effective and lasting results. The procedure is non-ablative with no downtime, thus you may resume your normal activities immediately after the treatment. You are advised to apply our highly efficacious personalized skin care during the entire course of treatment to lighten, stimulate and protect your skin thoroughly which allows you to achieve a smooth, supple and flawless complexion that you have always desired for.
