What makes a perfect face cleanser?

Glowing Cleanser

Many of you may be leaving out the most important step of your skin care routine: cleansing. Either you haven’t seriously thought about the importance of the 3 minutes facial cleansing or you just never feel anything special about face cleansing routine as you frequent your beauty therapist once a month? After all, I reckon you’d rather spend on skin care products that claim to ‘transform’ your skin.

Let us explore what makes a perfect face cleanser.

The very true fact is, a cleanser which is enriched with nutrients and humectant will wake up the skin and prepare it for better absorption of the subsequent product application. This is the main reason why I love to use the non-drying gel type Lagom Glowing Cleanser on my face so much. It is enriched with irresistible skin-loving ingredients such as Black Mulberry which is a superhero of anti-oxidant, while Glutamic Acid and Ascorbic Acid acting as novel skin lightening agents which rejuvenate the skin while promoting collagen synthesis with prolong usage. This is it! One single cleansing that carries multiple functions to improve our skin conditions. After each cleansing you literally feel that your skin is immersed with sufficient moist and hydration to make it supple and refreshed, while emitting the natural lights of glowing.

However, if you apply makeup during day time, then you should employ the “Double Cleansing” method in which the first part of the process is to use Lagom multi-action Miracle Makeup Remover to break down the makeup and dissolve sunscreen. Then, followed by Glowing Cleanser which effectively removes all make-up residue or any build-up of dirt and purifies clogged pores without disrupting the natural lipid balance of the skin. In fact, I could feel my face expressing its “APPRECIATION” after each cleansing by emitting the glow of satisfaction and confidence.

DOs and DON’Ts of Cleansing

DOS

  • Double cleanse. The first make up remover is to erase make-up and surface impurities that act as a barrier. Your second cleanse will then penetrate deeper into the skin.
  • Cleanse twice a day, morning and evening. The morning cleanse balances overnight oil production, while an evening cleanse will remove make-up, dirt, surface impurities, improve hydration and complement the skin rejuvenation that occurs during our beauty sleep.
  • If you suffer from breakouts or congestion, try performing slight massage of Miracle Makeup Remover on your face for a couple of minutes before washing off with clean water. This will stimulate the skin exfoliation to remove dead skin cells while promoting epidermal renewal.
  • After cleansing, use treatment serum and moisturiser that suit to your specific skin type.

DONT'S

  • Do not use a cleanser that leaves your skin feeling tight or dry. Many cleansers are formulated to foam excessively, giving the appearance of a deeper cleansing action. Don’t be fooled – more foam does not equal a better clean, and many of these cleansers strip the skin of important natural oils.

  • In fact, the ‘foaming’ agent (Surfactant) is actually an ingredient which creates bubbles! Usually Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate or SLS.

  • Do not use a bar of soap designed for the body to wash your face – many bar soaps contain harsh detergents and additives that may cause irritations to your skin and lead to breakouts.
